About
Malaura is a lifelong Washington resident with roots in the Columbia Basin. Her passion for paper led to a mentorship where she first learned the fine art of “painting with paper.”
Malaura’s impressionistic style is inspired by the geology and history of Washington State. Her use of what others might consider “useless little bits” provides the viewer an opportunity to experience materials in an unexpected way. Her work is sealed so it can be ever-so-gently touched, creating what she likes to call a “visually tactile experience.”
Her use of repurposed and natural fibers helps further her goal of creating affordable original art.
